Ryan and Chris Williams – Founders  /  Program Directors  /  Instructors

Born oWBIHS Webisoden July 11th 1985, Ryan and Chris grew up playing through Long Islands travel hockey system; advancing into the USA Developmental Program Festival Teams, as well as the MJHL, EJHL and CJHL in the years to follow. They have been coaching travel Ice hockey teams, of all age groups and tiers, since 2004. Ryan and Chris have also been members of USA Hockey’s Developmental Program; as members of the 14’s/15’s Select Festival Staff. Together they have coached and played for teams competing for championships in tournaments such as; USA Hockey’s State and National Championships, the Chicago Nike Bauer International Invite, and ‘The Prospects Tournament’ – North Americas #1 Ice Hockey Showcase Tournament. Currently the Williams Brothers own and operate their own ice hockey school, which they run out of Long Beach Arena.

 

The Williams Brothers Ice Hockey School specializes in ice hockey skills training. Our focus will be to serve the community by utilizing our brand and successfully proven methods, to structure a positive and unique learning environment for today’s youth players. With a comprehensive approach focusing on integrity, compassion, and respect; we aim to raise the level of ice hockey education in Long Beach! With the collaboration of our experiences, both as players and coaches, we are well informed of youth hockey player’s aspirations and the obstacles they face in the years to come! Utilizing Olympic and National level methods passed down from former coaches, we have developed a skill set to prepare young men for these obstacles and produce complete hockey players. Players of this caliber will be equipped with a full understanding of how the game is played, in all its facets, as well as the skill set to play it at the highest level possible. The definition of such a player begins with a foundation of character on and off the ice, hard work, respect, integrity, and discipline. With this foundation, players can properly apply the skill set that will be implemented, to deliver the full package!

 

                                                                                                                                                                      

 

Oliver Williams – Social Media Director  /  Instructor

WBIHS Oliver Bio PictureBorn on July 1st 1991, Oliver played for Suffolk PAL Juniors winning the 2009 Junior National Championship. Oliver also played for the Bay State Breakers (EJHL), Walpole Express (AJHL), and the Stonehill Skhawks (NCAA Division III). Majoring in communications with a minor in journalism, Oliver is currently working toward his degree at Stonehill College. Oliver is heavily involved in the Williams Brothers Ice Hockey School; as an on ice training instructor, off ice training instructor, as well our Social Media Director. Oliver also writes and manages for, ‘The 1st Line’, an affiliate hockey blog.

 

 

 

                                                                                                                                                                        

 

Will Baker – Media Content Manager  /  Digital Artist

BakerBorn June 16th 1993, Will played travel hockey for the Ramapo Saints and the New Jersey Avalanche. Will played four years at Suffern High School; where he received All-State honors his junior and senior year, and was named Journal News Hockey player of the Year. He played Prep school hockey at the Hill School, in Pottstown PA, and currently plays at Stonehill College (NCAA Division III). He is pursuing a degree in Graphic Design with a minor in Video Production. Will is the Media Content Manager, and Digital Artist, for the Williams Brothers Ice Hockey School.

Nicholas Abbene – Instructor

Nick AbbeneBorn June 23rd, 1994. Nick’s playing history includes; Suffolk Juniors (MJHL), Islanders Hockey Club, Middlesex MA (USEHL), and then Connecticut Yankees(USPHL). Nick currently plays for the CT Jr Rangers Hockey Club (USPHL). Some of Nicks accomplishments include; the Ronald McDonald House Cup Championship, and the USA Development Program Festival Teams. Nick has been involved in youth hockey development since 2013. His work history includes; Chelsea Piers Development Program, Long Beach Ice Arena Development Program, and is currently an instructor for the Williams Brothers Ice Hockey School.

Leor Benyamini – Goaltending Instructor

LeorLeor grew up playing ice hockey on Long Island since the age of five. Leor played youth hockey at the tier I level, as well as prep school, before leaving the game to earn multiple bachelor and master degrees at Quinnipiac University. Leor utilizes methods past down from his former coaches, including Rick Heinz goalie school in Toronto, Vladislov Tretieak, John Vanbezbrook, and Billy Smith. Leor’s philosophy closely resembles Dave Tatarian, a former Ranger and one of the foremost instructors for the position, combining the assets and foundations of goaltending with the new circumstances surrounding the position. Energetic, attentive, and full of information, Leor has a lot to offer youth goaltenders!

Zach Gomiela – Goaltending Instructor

Born on JulyZach 8th, 1991, Zach played hockey on Long Island for many years. In 2008 he played for the Long Island Junior Royals (MJHL), winning the Junior National Championship. Gomiela went on to play for the Binghamton Senators Junior A Hockey Club (AJHL), and Marist College Red Foxes. In the 12-13 season, Gomiela was an SECHL All-Star selection and led the Red Foxes to their first National Championship tournament ever. Gomiela is 2014 graduate of Marist College with a degree in Political Science and Business. Zach currently plays for the Danbury Whalers (FHL), and is currently a goal tending instructor for the Williams Brothers Ice Hockey School during the off season.
