Small Area Training

Today‚Äôs game is all about Transition, Speed, and Small Area Dominance. Two thirds of the game is being played in one zone. The average player only handles the puck for one to two seconds, before moving or losing the puck. Only the few players that have the ability to handle the puck in high traffic areas, stand out. Players have to execute quick escapes and evasive power turns, while maintaining maximum edge control and controlling the puck at high speeds. At WBIHS, we focus on small area training! We incorporate power skating, stickhandling, passing, shooting, team play, competition, and scoring all in the same protocol, as well as relate each drill to a game situation. There are more skilled players in today’s game than ever before. The days of one dimensional training, focusing solely on one specific skill set, are over! One dimensional players, only make it so far! Scouts want players that can do it all! At WBIHS we produce complete hockey players! Players with a full understanding of how the game is played, in all its facets, as well as the skill set to play the game at the highest level possible. Sign up today and take your first step on the road to becoming a complete hockey player!
